She was finally born. Her siblings had been waiting for what seemed like forever. But finally she was here. Her name was Princess River and she had bright blue eyes just like the colour of her name. There was also a magical feel about her. The king and queen demanded that a mini river should be built in the garden and when River would be a child she would paddle and have fun in her very own stream. Princess Snowflake and Prince Snowball took great care of the new royal baby. They played with their sister and refused to let the nurse feed her. She was not neglected by their mother and father (as some would suspect, as Queen Summer and King Winter were very busy) who played with her and made endless stories up for her even though she didn't understand. The only thing the family avoided was changing River. Soon, a year had passed by and River was a toddler. But something the monarchs hadn't mentioned to the children was that there was an addition to the servants. A few months before River was born, the married gardener and maid had had a child of their own named Aaron.
One day, River was playing in the soft grass of the gardens. Snowflake and Snowball had gone to piano practice. The nurse had fallen asleep. A little boy about the same age as River came up to her. She giggled. The boy giggled. The children had only just learned to speak a little. The boy said "Hihi. Aaron me!" "Me River" said River. They held hands and River started walking. Aaron followed. they came to a small stream. Aaron recognised it. His father tended it. River recognised it too. It was her river! Aaron sat down and put his hands in the water. River copied. Their hands touched and Aaron grabbed hold of hers. They put their heads together. Even though they were only 1-year-olds, they both knew this friendship would last a very, very long time.

Book Review: Hunger Games
"Primrose Everdeen" My little sister going to the death arena.
The Hunger Games. A death arena for kids. An entertainment for the rich yet bloodthirsty Capitol. Forcing teenagers to kill each other will not repair the open wounds of District 13. A boy from each district. A girl from each district. There is only one winner. 23 children will die. 23 families heartbroken. When Katniss finds herself in the forest, bearing no weapons, it is vital for her to make the most of what she has to survive. As the number of children dwindle down and down, Katniss wonders if there is a chance to get out alive. To win. Winning meant total luxury, whereas losing meant certain death. Either she died or her friends died. There was no way out of misery. Could things get any worse?

We are at war
As children sleep while they can,
Adults stay up waiting, watching.
The soldiers fighting every man.
A flash of peace passes over,
Which soon turns into fear.
The firestorm has started.
Our fate we now foresee.
The blazing bombs are nearing town,
Hitler will never have mercy.
To look at all these helpless people,
When alarming air raid sirens scream,
May ache one's heart beyond belief,
To see that death is the theme.
The whole country, one big team.
To think what would become of us,
When Hitler has mercy is just a dream.
Yet we still do not surrender.

Falling
I was falling…falling…falling. Total darkness of a purple-black colour was exposed to me. I fell into the depths of the world or perhaps it was hell as crazy thoughts ran through my head. Where was I? Why was I here? What would happen to me? Would I be rescued from this life threatening fall? No-one knew.
I awoke with a start. Where was I? I got up. All I could see was a blinding light and a white mist. All I could hear was a voice screaming “Don’t get up!” I didn't understand at first. Why was I here? Then I remembered. I started to feel dizzy. My knees gave way. What would happen to me? I was ill and about to fall and split my head open. I noticed the bleep wasn't in my head. Would I be rescued from this life-threatening fall? But no-one came to my aid. I was falling...falling…falling.
Blood dripped from my head. Then everything went out. My hearing, my sight. I got trundled along to the emergency room. They tried to revive me but they couldn't. Not now, not ever.
I sensed them as they dressed me up into my best party dress. I sensed them as they lowered me into my coffin. I sensed them as they threw flowers onto me. I sensed them as they placed me into my freshly dug grave. They didn't sense me. The mourners weren't aware of the fact I was still in their world.

Sensing Nature
I am in Richmond Park,
Where grass is green as emeralds.
And the sky is a sparkling bright blue.
When I am in the dark,
I see shimmering, glimmering pools.
Deer sleeping in groups too.
The smell of fragrant flowers,
The smell of humid air.
The smell of nuts and sap,
Here and there.
All these smells bring me glee,
For these smells are nature, growing on a tree.
I feel the taste on my lips,
Of misty morning air.
Sweetness fills my mouth,
As I bite into a wild pear.
The delicious taste of icy water,
From the refreshing stream.
I ask myself,
If this is a dream.
Chirping birds, high in trees.
The gentle rustle of fallen leaves.
A cricket singing in the distance.
The croak from an idle frog.
A fish splashing,
A fox dashing.
The cool water of a rushing river.
The crispy crunchy leaves.
Softness is what the grass provides.
Rough bark on trees, on both sides.
Does anyone but me,
Understand what Richmond Park could be?
Where grass is green as emeralds.
And the sky is a sparkling bright blue.
When I am in the dark,
I see shimmering, glimmering pools.
Deer sleeping in groups too.
The smell of fragrant flowers,

Sing about Christmas times
The world has turned beautifully white,
To Santa the children will write.
We can have lots of fun,
Even when there's no sun.
CHORUS
Sing about Christmas times.
Just sing about Christmas times.
Sing to the ladies or sing to the lords.
But sing about Christmas times.
Jesus was born,
In a manger with corn.
Three wise men followed a bright star,
But they didn't come in a car.
CHORUS
Santa comes on Christmas eve night,
Not leaving his reindeer behind.
Let's not fight,
For the extraordinary presents we find.
CHORUS
Now it's time to go to bed,
And rest our sleepyhead.
Tomorrow will be Christmas day,
All the children will shout "Hooray!"
CHORUS
It's Christmas today,
In soft snow we'll play.
The fire gives a glow,
That you won't find in the snow
CHORUS x2

Will Charlotte escape?
Key
Narrator
Charlotte's narrative
At the very top of the darkest, deserted tower, there was silence in the lonely lumber room. All except for a sad sobbing sound in a dusty corner. Unhappily, Charlotte shuffled slowly towards the untouched bowl of thick hot soup and peered over the edge. It looked most unappetising. Big crystal tears fell from her twinkling sapphire eyes and slithered down her face as she stirred the soup.
Clink! A shiver went down scared Charlotte's spine. Her tears rolled into the unpleasant soup and something shined in it. Charlotte gasped and stared at the soup. Something was in it for sure. Stunned, Charlotte picked up her spoon and fished the object out of her thick and now lukewarm soup.
I was astonished to see that the strange, mysterious object was a key. At first I hesitated, not knowing what to do with it, but then I realised Hildi must have put it there. That's what must have caused all the commotion downstairs. Hildi must have been fired. As I slowly turned the rusty key in the lock, I thought of where she could of gone. Maybe the deserted mountain hut ... no, no, no, she must have gone to The Jolly Huntsman. I silently crept to my room, packed a few things and of I went to The Jolly Huntsman.
